Tetanus Toxoid Concentrate

Tetanus Toxoid Concentrate is a multi-species vaccine that helps prevent tetanus in healthy horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and swine. Formulated with detoxified tetanus toxin, this purified, concentrated vaccine stimulates an immune response while retaining the antigenic properties needed for immunization. Each serial is tested for purity, safety, and potency in accordance with USDA requirements.

Features:

Dosage and Administration:

Shake well before use. Administer two doses approximately 30 days apart, followed by annual revaccination.

• Horses: 1 mL per dose. Intramuscular administration is recommended because subcutaneous injection may cause more local reactions.
• Cattle: 1 mL per dose.
• Sheep, goats, and swine: 0.5 mL per dose.

Protective antibody levels usually develop about two weeks after the second dose. The duration of immunity is unknown. Follow the current product label for approved administration routes for each species.

Important Information:

Vaccination is especially relevant when animals are at risk of exposure through deep puncture wounds, castration, docking, surgical procedures, or contaminated environments. This vaccine is for prevention and does not provide immediate protection for animals that may already have been exposed. Consult a veterinarian about tetanus antitoxin for emergency passive protection and seek urgent veterinary care if tetanus is suspected.

Cautions/Warnings:

Use only in healthy animals. Safety in pregnant animals is unknown. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Do not mix with other products. Use the entire contents of the vial when first opened.

A temporary injection-site reaction or an anaphylactoid reaction may occur. If anaphylaxis occurs, administer epinephrine (adrenaline) or equivalent treatment as directed by a veterinarian. Contains thimerosal and formaldehyde as preservatives. In case of human exposure, consult a physician.

Storage:

Store at 2–8°C. Do not freeze.
