Rx SpectoGard Sterile Solution is a prescription injectable antibiotic formulated specifically for cattle to treat bovine respiratory disease (BRD). Containing 100 mg/mL of spectinomycin equivalent, this sterile solution is the first and only FDA-approved generic equivalent to Zoetis® Adspec® (no longer available), providing a trusted treatment option for managing bacterial pneumonia in beef and dairy cattle.

Directions:

Administer subcutaneously in the neck at a daily dose of 10 to 15 mg of spectinomycin per kg of body weight (4.5 to 6.8 mL per 100 lb). Treat once every 24 hours for 3 to 5 consecutive days. Dose selection and treatment duration should be based on disease severity, pathogen susceptibility, and clinical response. Do not inject more than 50 mL per injection site.

Injection site discoloration may persist beyond 11 days after administration and may require trimming of affected tissue at slaughter.
