Rx Sulfadimethoxine 12.5% Concentrated Oral Solution for Poultry and Cattle
Rx Sulfadimethoxine 12.5% Concentrated Oral Solution is a broad-spectrum antibacterial medication administered through drinking water or, for individual cattle treatment, as an oral drench. It is used to treat specific bacterial diseases and coccidiosis in broiler and replacement chickens, meat-producing turkeys, dairy calves, dairy heifers, and beef cattle when caused by susceptible organisms.

Dosage and Administration:
Chickens and Turkeys
Treatment Period: 6 consecutive days.

Chickens: For a 0.05% concentration, add 1 fl oz (30 mL) to 2 gallons of drinking water, or 25 fl oz to 50 gallons.

Turkeys: For a 0.025% concentration, add 1 fl oz (30 mL) to 4 gallons of drinking water, or 25 fl oz to 100 gallons.
Automatic Proportioner Stock Solution
To prepare 2 gallons of stock solution:

Chickens: Mix 1 gallon of 12.5% concentrated solution with 1 gallon of water.

Turkeys: Mix 2 quarts of concentrated solution with 6 quarts of water.
Set the proportioner to deliver 1 fl oz of stock solution per gallon of drinking water. Prepare fresh stock solution daily.
Dairy Calves, Dairy Heifers, and Beef Cattle
Treatment Period: 5 consecutive days.

Initial Dose: 25 mg per lb of body weight.

Maintenance Dose: 12.5 mg per lb of body weight daily for the following 4 days.
Drinking Water Administration
The supplied label dosage tables are based on estimated water intake and differ by season.

Summer: Estimated water intake of 1 gallon per 100 lb of body weight per day.

Winter: Estimated water intake of 1 gallon per 150 lb of body weight per day.
Use the product label's seasonal dosage tables to determine the appropriate initial and maintenance concentrations based on the daily drinking water supply.
Individual Cattle Treatment
The solution may be administered as an oral drench according to label directions. The stated dosage is an initial dose of 25 mg per lb of body weight, followed by 4 daily maintenance doses of 12.5 mg per lb. The supplied label indicates that 1 fl oz treats a 150 lb animal initially and 1/2 fl oz provides a maintenance dose for a 150 lb animal.
Withdrawal Periods and Restrictions:

Chickens and Turkeys: Withdraw treatment 5 days before slaughter. Do not administer to chickens older than 16 weeks (112 days) or turkeys older than 24 weeks (168 days).

Cattle: Withdraw treatment 7 days before slaughter. For use only in dairy calves, dairy heifers, and beef cattle.

Pre-Ruminating Calves: A withdrawal period has not been established. Do not use in calves intended for veal.
