Rx Drontal® Plus Tablets for Dogs – Broad-Spectrum Dewormer

Drontal® Plus (praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel) is a broad-spectrum oral dewormer for dogs and puppies that helps remove common intestinal parasites with a single treatment. Its three active ingredients work together against tapeworms, hookworms, roundworms (ascarids), and whipworms. Drontal® Plus is available in scored tablet sizes for dogs of different weights and may be given directly by mouth or with a small amount of food.

Parasites Treated:

• Roundworms (Ascarids): Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina
• Whipworms: Trichuris vulpis

Active Ingredients:

• Praziquantel: Active against tapeworms
• Pyrantel pamoate: Active against hookworms and ascarids
• Febantel: Active against nematode parasites, including whipworms

Directions:

Weigh the dog before treatment and administer the appropriate dose as a single oral treatment. Tablets may be given directly by mouth or offered in a small amount of food. Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended before or after treatment. The presence of parasites should be confirmed by laboratory fecal examination. Follow your veterinarian's recommendations for repeat treatments or ongoing deworming.

Important: Do not use in puppies less than 3 weeks of age or dogs weighing less than 2 lbs. Do not use in pregnant animals.

Storage:

Store at controlled room temperature between 59°–86°F (15°–30°C).

Cautions/Warnings:

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Strict hygienic precautions should be used when handling dogs or feces suspected of harboring Echinococcus multilocularis. Infected dogs treated for the first time, or dogs treated at intervals greater than 28 days, may shed parasite eggs in their feces after treatment. Keep out of reach of children.
