Rx Draxxin® Injectable Solution

Draxxin® Injectable Solution is a ready-to-use, clear injectable antibiotic solution for the treatment and control of certain bacterial respiratory diseases in cattle and swine. In beef and non-lactating dairy cattle, it is also indicated for the treatment of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (pinkeye) and bovine foot rot. Its convenient, low-volume dosage and easy-to-syringe formulation support efficient administration.

Features:

Indications:

Beef and Non-Lactating Dairy Cattle

• Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD): Treatment of BRD associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni, and Mycoplasma bovis. Also indicated for control of respiratory disease in cattle at high risk of developing BRD associated with these organisms.
• Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis (IBK): Treatment of pinkeye associated with Moraxella bovis.
• Bovine Foot Rot: Treatment of interdigital necrobacillosis associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphyromonas levii.

Swine

• Swine Respiratory Disease (SRD): Treatment of SRD associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus parasuis, and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
• Disease Control: Control of SRD associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae in groups of pigs where SRD has been diagnosed.

Directions for Use:

Dosage and Administration:

Administer a single subcutaneous injection in the neck at a dosage of 2.5 mg/kg (1.1 mL per 100 lb. of body weight). Do not inject more than 10 mL per injection site.

Withdrawal and Restrictions:

• Cattle: Observe an 18-day pre-slaughter withdrawal period.
• Dairy Cattle: Do not use in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older.
• Swine: Swine intended for human consumption must not be slaughtered within 5 days after the last treatment.

Important: DRAXXIN 25 is intended for suckling calves, dairy calves, veal calves, and swine. It is not for use in ruminating cattle.

Storage:

Store below 25°C (77°F), with permitted temperature excursions up to 40°C (104°F). Use within 45 days after the first vial puncture and puncture the vial no more than 20 times. If more than 20 punctures are anticipated, use automatic injection equipment or a repeater syringe. When using a draw-off spike or a needle with a bore diameter larger than 16 gauge, discard any product remaining in the vial immediately after use.
