Chorulon® (chorionic gonadotropin) is a prescription injectable hormone used in cows to treat nymphomania, characterized by frequent or constant heat, associated with cystic ovaries. Each vial provides 10,000 IU of chorionic gonadotropin after reconstitution. Chorulon is also labeled for use in brood finfish to help improve spawning function.

Directions:

Reconstitution: Transfer the contents of one vial of sterile diluent into one vial of freeze-dried powder. The resulting 10 mL solution contains 10,000 IU of chorionic gonadotropin. Use immediately after reconstitution. Discard any unused solution; do not store it for future use.

• Cows: Administer the contents of one reconstituted vial (10 mL) as a single deep intramuscular injection. Treatment may be repeated after 14 days if the cow's behavior or rectal examination of the ovaries indicates retreatment is necessary.
• Brood finfish: Administer by intramuscular injection just ventral to the dorsal fin. One to three injections may be given, depending on the species and treatment protocol. Labeled doses vary by species, sex, and body weight; consult the product label and a veterinarian for the appropriate dose and injection volume.

Storage and Handling:

Store at or below 77°F (25°C). Use reconstituted solution immediately. Dispose of unused solution properly.

Cautions:

Chorionic gonadotropin is a protein. In the unlikely event of an anaphylactic reaction, administer epinephrine. An antihistamine may also be indicated. Keep out of reach of children. FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY.
