EEE, WEE, EIV & Tetanus

Prestige 4 is a killed-virus and tetanus toxoid vaccine for healthy horses 6 months of age and older. It aids in the prevention of disease caused by Eastern equine encephalomyelitis (EEE), Western equine encephalomyelitis (WEE), and tetanus, and aids in reducing virus shedding associated with equine influenza virus (EIV).

The vaccine contains updated EIV strains along with inactivated EEE and WEE viruses and tetanus toxoid. Havlogen® adjuvant is included to support the immune response.

Vaccination Schedule:

• Primary vaccination: Aseptically administer 1 mL intramuscularly, then repeat with a second 1 mL dose 3–4 weeks later.
• Revaccination: Annual revaccination has historically been recommended, but the need for this booster has not been established. Maternal antibodies may interfere with immunity in foals, so additional doses may be required. Consult your veterinarian for an appropriate revaccination schedule.

Influenza Strains:

Florida '13 Clade 1, Richmond '07 Clade 2, and Kentucky '02.

Ingredients:

• Antibiotic: Gentamicin.
  
• Preservative: Thimerosal.

Duration of Immunity:

Duration of immunity has been demonstrated for 6 months for EIV. Duration of immunity for EEE, WEE, and tetanus has not been established.

Administration:

For Use With: Healthy horses 6 months of age and older.

Shake well before use. Administer 1 mL deep into the muscle using aseptic technique. Use the entire contents when first opened. Do not mix with other products.

Storage:

Store at 2°–8°C (35°–46°F).

Cautions/Warnings:

This product has not been tested in pregnant animals. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Local injection-site reactions may occur and generally resolve within 3–7 days. Systemic reactions may also occur. If an allergic reaction occurs, treat with epinephrine. Use care to avoid accidental self-injection, which can cause serious local reactions.
