EPRINEX® Pour-On Cattle Wormer, 5 mg/mL

EPRINEX® (eprinomectin) Pour-On provides broad-spectrum control of important internal and external parasites in beef and dairy cattle. The weatherproof formula treats and controls gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, cattle grubs, lice, mange mites, and horn flies. It is approved for use in cattle of all ages, including calves, heifers, dry cows, lactating cows, and bulls.

Applied topically along the backline, EPRINEX Pour-On is easy to administer without injections. When used according to label directions, it has no meat withdrawal or milk withholding period. A measuring cup makes dosing quick, convenient, and accurate.

Indications:

EPRINEX Pour-On is indicated for the treatment and control of the following parasites in beef and dairy cattle:

• Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Includes Haemonchus placei, Ostertagia ostertagi (including inhibited L4), Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, T. longibursicularis, Cooperia oncophora, C. punctata, C. surnabada, Nematodirus helvetianus, Oesophagostomum radiatum, Bunostomum phlebotomum, Strongyloides papillosus, and Trichuris spp.
• Lungworms: Dictyocaulus viviparus.
• Cattle Grubs: All parasitic stages of Hypoderma lineatum and Hypoderma bovis.
• Lice: Damalinia bovis, Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurysternus, and Solenopotes capillatus.
• Mange Mites: Chorioptes bovis and Sarcoptes scabiei.
• Horn Flies: Haematobia irritans.

Active Ingredient:

Eprinomectin: 5 mg/mL

Dosage:

Administer 1 mL per 22 lb of body weight (500 mcg eprinomectin/kg). Apply the complete dose topically in a narrow strip along the backline from the withers to the tailhead.

Do Not Underdose: Ensure each animal receives a complete dose based on its current body weight. Underdosing may result in ineffective treatment and encourage the development of parasite resistance.

Administration:

For metering-cup containers, select the animal's body-weight dose. When body weight falls between markings, use the higher setting. Gently squeeze the container to fill the cup, release any excess back into the container, then pour the full measured dose along the backline until the cup is empty.

The metering cup should be removed from the container after each use and the shipping cap replaced. An applicator is required for the 2.5 L, 5 L, and 20 L sizes.

Available Sizes:

• 250 mL: Treats up to 5,500 lb of body weight
• 1 L: Treats up to 22,000 lb of body weight
• 2.5 L: Treats up to 55,000 lb of body weight; applicator required
• 5 L: Treats up to 110,000 lb of body weight; applicator required

Parasite Control Program:

For best results, EPRINEX Pour-On should be applied to all cattle in the herd. Cattle introduced to the herd later should be treated before introduction. Consult your veterinarian or an entomologist for guidance on timing and integrated control methods for external parasites.

Because EPRINEX provides 7 days of persistent activity against horn flies, additional control methods may be needed as part of an integrated horn-fly management program.

As with any topical medication intended for animal treatment, avoid skin contact. If accidental skin contact occurs, wash immediately with soap and water. If accidental eye exposure occurs, flush eyes immediately with water.

Precautions:

This product is for topical application only. Do not administer orally or by injection. Do not apply to areas of the backline covered with mud or manure. EPRINEX Pour-On is not recommended for use in species other than cattle. Severe adverse reactions have been reported in other species treated with products containing compounds of this class. Not for use in calves to be processed for veal.

Storage Conditions:

Store the bottle or pack in the carton to protect from light and at temperatures up to 86°F (30°C). Storage at temperatures up to 104°F (40°C) is permitted for a short period of time; however, such exposure should be minimized.
