Fowl Pox Vaccine is a freeze-dried, live virus vaccine propagated in chicken embryos for the prevention of fowl pox in chickens. Recommended for healthy chickens 8 weeks of age or older, it helps prevent the clinical signs associated with virulent field strains of fowl pox virus when administered as directed.

This vaccine is administered using the wing-web method with the included 2-prong winged applicator. Vaccinate at least 4 weeks before the start of egg production. Each package includes one 2-prong winged vaccinator.

Protects Against:

• Fowl Pox: Helps prevent clinical signs caused by virulent field strains of fowl pox virus.

Directions:

• Reconstitution: Remove the aluminum seal and rubber stopper from the vaccine vial. Remove the seal and stopper from the 10 mL diluent bottle.
• Pour approximately half of the diluent into the vial containing the freeze-dried vaccine. Replace the stopper and shake.
• Pour the partly dissolved vaccine back into the diluent bottle. Replace the stopper and shake vigorously until completely dissolved.
• Use the reconstituted vaccine promptly according to label directions. Use the entire contents once opened.
• Wing-Web Administration: Hold the chicken securely and spread the underside of one wing to expose the web.
• Dip the 2-prong applicator into the vaccine solution, making sure both needles are charged with vaccine.
• Pierce the exposed wing web with the applicator. Do not administer the vaccine at any site other than the wing web.

Dosage & Vaccination Schedule:

• Age: Vaccinate healthy chickens 8 weeks of age or older.
• Timing: Vaccinate at least 4 weeks before the start of lay.
• Dosage: Administer using the wing-web method with the included 2-prong applicator. Do not over-dilute or extend the dosage.

• 1,000 Doses: Includes vaccine, 10 mL diluent and one 2-prong winged vaccinator.

Withdrawal Period:

• Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter.
• Do not vaccinate within 4 weeks before the start of lay.

Precautions:

• Vaccinate healthy chickens only.
• Do not place vaccinated chickens on contaminated premises. Avoid exposure to fowl pox immediately following vaccination.
• Vaccinate all susceptible chickens on the same premises at the same time whenever possible. If this is not possible, maintain strict isolation and separate caretakers for unvaccinated birds.
• Reduce stress conditions at the time of vaccination.
• Do not mix with other products unless specifically directed by the label.
• Do not spill or splatter the vaccine.
• In case of accidental human exposure, contact a physician.
• Preservatives: Gentamicin and amphotericin B.

Storage & Handling:

• Keep unopened vaccine vials refrigerated at 2°C–8°C (35°F–46°F).
• Do not freeze.
• Use the entire contents once opened.
• Inactivate containers, unused vaccine and accessories before disposal. Burn as directed by the product label.
