A balling gun is used in livestock management to administer oral medications or supplements to large animals, such as cattle and sheep. It is designed to make the process of giving medications easier and safer for both the animal and the person administering the treatment.
The medication or supplement is loaded into the barrel, and then the balling gun is inserted into the animal's mouth. By pushing the plunger, the medication is released from the barrel and into the animal's throat, allowing the animal to swallow it.
This tool is particularly useful when dealing with animals that are uncooperative or difficult to handle, as it minimizes the risk of injury to both the animal and the person administering the treatment. The balling gun ensures accurate dosing and reduces the chances of the medication being spat out or wasted.
