Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot

Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot is a modified-live virus vaccine with Mannheimia haemolytica toxoid for healthy cattle. It is designed to aid in the prevention of disease caused by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) Types 1 and 2, parainfluenza 3 (PI3), and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), and to aid in the prevention of bovine pneumonia.

Features:

• Respiratory and Viral Disease Protection: Aids in the prevention of disease associated with IBR, BVD Types 1 and 2, PI3, and BRSV.
• Pneumonia Protection: Includes Mannheimia haemolytica toxoid to aid in the prevention of bovine pneumonia.
• Modified-Live Virus Vaccine: Formulated with a freeze-dried component that is rehydrated with the sterile diluent provided.
• Single-Dose Primary Vaccination: Administer one 2 mL dose to healthy cattle, according to label directions.
• Available Sizes: 5-dose, 10-dose, and 50-dose vials.

Directions:

Preparation: Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried component with the sterile diluent provided. Mix or shake well before administration.

Administration: Administer 2 mL subcutaneously (SQ). In accordance with Beef Quality Assurance guidelines, administer in the neck region.

Primary Vaccination: Administer a single 2 mL dose to healthy cattle. Maternal antibodies may interfere with the development of active immunity, so additional booster vaccinations may be needed in young animals.

Revaccination Recommendations:

• The need for booster vaccinations has not been established for this product. Consult a veterinarian or the manufacturer for guidance on an appropriate vaccination schedule.
• Calves vaccinated before 6 months of age should be revaccinated after 6 months of age or at weaning, according to label directions.
• Annual revaccination has historically been recommended. Revaccination may also be appropriate when subsequent stress or exposure is likely.

Cautions/Warnings:

• Pregnant Cows: Do not use in pregnant cows unless they were vaccinated according to label directions with a Bovi-Shield GOLD FP or PregGuard GOLD FP vaccine within the past 12 months. Abortion may result if these requirements are not met.
• Calves Nursing Pregnant Cows: Do not use in calves nursing pregnant cows unless their dams were vaccinated within the past 12 months as described above.
• Prebreeding Vaccination: To help ensure safety in pregnant cattle, heifers must receive at least two doses of a Bovi-Shield GOLD FP or PregGuard GOLD FP product, with the second dose administered approximately 30 days before breeding.
• Slaughter Withdrawal: Allow 21 days between vaccination and slaughter.

Storage:

Store at 2°–8°C (36°–46°F). Do not freeze. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures or direct sunlight may reduce potency. Use the entire contents when first opened.
