Bovi-Shield Gold 5 – IBR, BVD, PI3 & BRSV
Bovine Rhinotracheitis-Virus Diarrhea-Parainfluenza3-Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccine
Bovi-Shield Gold® 5 is a modified-live virus vaccine for healthy beef and dairy cattle. It helps prevent respiratory disease associated with infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), parainfluenza 3 (PI3), bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), and bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) Types 1a, 1b, and 2. It also aids in preventing BVD-associated viremia.
Features & Benefits:
- Broad respiratory protection: Helps protect against five important viral causes of respiratory disease: IBR, BVD Types 1a, 1b, and 2, PI3, and BRSV.
- Helps reduce BVD impact: Aids in preventing both respiratory disease and viremia associated with BVD Types 1a, 1b, and 2.
- One-dose primary vaccination: Healthy cattle receive a single 2 mL dose for the primary vaccination.
- Beef and dairy use: Suitable for both beef and dairy cattle.
- Modified-live vaccine: Provides an active immune response using modified-live viral components.
- Flexible administration: Can be administered either subcutaneously or intramuscularly.
Directions:
Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the sterile diluent provided, mix well, and administer 2 mL subcutaneously or intramuscularly. In accordance with Beef Quality Assurance guidelines, subcutaneous administration in the neck region is recommended.
- Primary vaccination: Administer one 2 mL dose to healthy cattle. Maternal antibodies may interfere with development of active immunity, so additional vaccination may be required in young animals.
- Revaccination: The need for booster vaccination has not been established. Consult your veterinarian or the manufacturer for guidance.

Heifers should receive at least two appropriate doses, with the second dose administered approximately 30 days before breeding, to help ensure safety in pregnant cattle.
Fetal health risks associated with modified-live vaccines in pregnant animals cannot be unequivocally determined. Discuss vaccination strategies for pregnant cattle with a veterinarian.
Use sterilized syringes and needles. Do not use chemically sterilized equipment because disinfectant residue may inactivate the vaccine. Do not mix with other products except as specifically directed. Inactivate unused contents before disposal. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
