Rx Apoquel Tablets for Dogs – Allergy & Itch Relief
Apoquel (oclacitinib) is a prescription oral medication for dogs that helps control itching and inflammation associated with allergic skin disease and atopic dermatitis. It works by targeting pathways involved in allergic itch, helping reduce scratching, licking, and chewing so dogs can experience relief from persistent skin irritation.
Apoquel begins relieving allergic itch within 4 hours and can control itching within 24 hours. It is approved for dogs 12 months of age and older and may be prescribed for short-term or long-term management of allergic skin conditions. Tablets are available in 3.6 mg, 5.4 mg, and 16 mg strengths to accommodate different dog sizes.

Indications:
For the control of itching associated with allergic dermatitis and the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs at least 12 months of age.
Directions:
Administer orally as directed by your veterinarian. The labeled dosing schedule is twice daily for up to 14 days, followed by once-daily maintenance therapy. The appropriate dose depends on the dog's body weight and prescribed tablet strength. May be given with or without food.

Possible Side Effects:
Reported side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, decreased appetite, and changes in bloodwork. Contact your veterinarian if your dog develops concerning symptoms while taking Apoquel.
Cautions/Warnings:
For use in dogs only. Do not use in dogs younger than 12 months of age, dogs with serious infections, or dogs intended for breeding or that are pregnant or lactating. Apoquel modulates the immune system and may increase susceptibility to infections, including demodicosis, and may worsen existing cancerous conditions. New benign and malignant growths have been observed in treated dogs. Dogs receiving Apoquel should be monitored for infections and other adverse effects. Use with corticosteroids, cyclosporine, or other systemic immunosuppressive medications has not been evaluated. Consult your veterinarian before combining medications. Keep out of reach of children and other animals.
Storage:
Store at controlled room temperature between 68°F and 77°F, with permitted excursions between 59°F and 104°F. Keep medication securely stored to prevent accidental ingestion.
