Jeffers Horse Hoof Pick

The Jeffers Horse Hoof Pick is used to clean the hooves of debris, dirt, rocks, mud, and other foreign objects. It helps maintain the cleanliness and health of the horse's hooves, preventing infections, injuries, or discomfort.

  • Cleaning: Before and after riding or handling a horse, it's important to clean its hooves. Using the hoof pick, remove the dirt and debris from the grooves and crevices of the hoof.
  • Inspection: Cleaning the hooves allows you to inspect the hooves for any signs of injury, infection, or abnormalities. This is essential for maintaining the horse's overall health.
  • Foreign Objects: Sometimes, horses may step on foreign objects like nails, thorns, or sharp rocks. The hoof pick is used to carefully remove these objects to prevent injury or lameness.
  • Preventing Thrush: Regular use of a hoof pick helps prevent the development of thrush, a bacterial infection that can occur in the horse's hooves due to the accumulation of dirt and moisture.

Directions:

Use the hoof pick in a downward motion toward the toe. Never use the hoof pick from toe to heel because it is more likely to get caught in a crevice and puncture the sole or frog if the foot is jerked from your grasp.

Coated Handle, 5.5" long

I've been buying these for sooo many years... and I love them. I tried a fancy one, and had a bad experience with one of the ones with a brush on the other end being very sharp and going stabby stab into the bulb of my horse's heel. I like these. They do
