How to size or properly measure a pony blanket?
To ensure a proper fit, you should measure your pony using a flexible tape measure while they are standing square.
- Place the end of the tape at the center of the pony's chest, where the neck meets the breast.
- Measure the tape horizontally across the widest part of the shoulder, along the barrel, and around to the center of the tail. The total measurement in inches is typically the pony's size.
American Cuts are usually sold in 2-inch increments; if your measurement is an odd number, round up to the next even size. While European Cuts often measure in 3-inch increments. You may need to subtract 3-4 inches from your total measurement to find the equivalent size in some European brands.
