Rx Salix Injection is a fast-acting diuretic used in dogs, cats, horses, and cattle to help relieve edema and excess fluid retention associated with certain medical conditions. Containing furosemide, this injectable solution promotes the rapid removal of retained fluids by increasing urine production. It is commonly used to help manage pulmonary congestion, ascites, and edema related to cardiac insufficiency, as well as acute noninflammatory tissue swelling. In cattle, it is also indicated for the treatment of physiological udder edema following calving.
Salix Injection may be administered intravenously or intramuscularly and is often used when rapid diuretic action is needed. Treatment plans and dosage schedules should always be determined by a veterinarian based on the animal’s condition and response to therapy.
Use only as directed by your veterinarian. May be administered intramuscularly or intravenously. Dosage and treatment schedule vary by species, body weight, and condition being treated.
Furosemide 50 mg/mL.
For veterinary use only. Do not use in horses intended for human consumption. Cattle milk must not be used for food during treatment and for 48 hours after the last treatment. Cattle must not be slaughtered for food within 48 hours of the last treatment. Use with caution in dehydrated animals or those with electrolyte imbalances. Veterinary monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is recommended during prolonged therapy. Do not use solution if discolored. Keep out of reach of children.
