Lactulose Solution is a prescription liquid medication used in dogs and cats to relieve constipation and support the management of liver disease, including hepatic encephalopathy. This synthetic sugar solution softens stool by drawing water into the colon and helps reduce ammonia levels in the body by acidifying colonic contents.
