Borrelia Burgdorferi Bacterial Extract

Recombitek Lyme is a vaccine for healthy dogs 9 weeks of age and older that helps reduce disease associated with infection by Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium that causes Lyme disease. It contains inactivated, purified outer surface protein A (OspA) and is administered by subcutaneous injection.

Features & Benefits:

  • For dogs 9 weeks and older: Intended for use in healthy dogs.
  • Inactivated vaccine: Contains purified outer surface protein A (OspA).
  • Package contents: 20 doses, each containing 1 mL.

Dosage & Administration:

  • Aseptically administer one 1 mL dose subcutaneously (SC) to a healthy dog.
  • Primary vaccination: Give a second 1 mL dose 2–3 weeks after the first dose.
  • Revaccination: Consult your veterinarian regarding the appropriate booster schedule. The need for annual revaccination has not been established for this product.

Storage:

Store refrigerated at 35°F–46°F (2°C–8°C). Do not freeze.

Cautions and Warnings:

Contains gentamicin as a preservative. Possible reactions include lethargy, fever, inflammation at the injection site, or hypersensitivity reactions. Seek veterinary guidance if a reaction occurs; treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatory medication, or epinephrine as directed by a veterinarian. Safety in pregnant animals has not been established. Do not mix with other products or use chemicals to sterilize syringes and needles. In case of human exposure, contact a physician. For animal use only.
