I tried this bit on both my horses. Both were fine and comfortable. It is bigger and heavier than I expected, but that doesn't seem to matter to my horses.
This is the same bit natural horsemanship teachers recommend. This is an excellent bit. Can run small, your large horse may need the 5.5 size.
This bit would be a good bit for someone that is learning & doesn't want to spend too much on a bit. It is very fat, therefore a bunch of my horses don't listen to it. This is basically a replica of the Sprenger bits.

That jointed mouth piece is awesome and the copper stimulates the saliva gland keeping their mouth moist. ESPECIALLY if you have a Trakehner this is the bit for you. It's easier on the bars of the mouth. Never found a snaffle that fit my Trak better.
