Seems to be a well made feeder .The chickens have a harder time flicking out their feed crumbles ,so definitely less waste of expensive organic feed.

I purchased this item with its lid/cover. We used to have feeder with no separator and our hens waste a lot of feed (our feed is non pellet type). Since ever we swapped to this one, there are least amount of spill on the ground and saved us $ on feed.

We got two of the 22 # ones hoping to reduce the waste of crumble style feeds and these work great. We can hang them off the ground, they hold a lot of food so we don't have to refill often, and they are sturdy so even when twenty chickens are eating out
