Ice-O-Gel is a versatile equine gelled liniment designed to address a variety of tendon and ligament issues commonly experienced by horses. This specially formulated gel works by cooling, drawing, and tightening affected areas to help treat conditions such as bowed tendons, stocking up (edema), suspensory ligament damage, and wind puffs. With minimal to no scurfing, Ice-O-Gel provides effective relief while supporting equine leg health. It is available in convenient sizes of 16 oz, 48 oz, and 1 Gal, allowing for flexible use depending on the needs of the horse.
Active ingredients per jar: DL-Camphor (Synthetic) (1.28%), L-Menthol (Mentha Arvensis) (1.03%).
Excipient per jar: Purified Water (74.21%), Isopropyl Alcohol (20.05%), Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (3.43%).
To use Ice-O-Gel, apply generously to the leg by rubbing against and with the hair. Then, rub with the hair only. Next, wrap the leg with two or three squares of paper toweling or brown Kraft paper and apply a standing bandage. Leave on the leg for 24 to 72 hours, repeating as needed. While it’s not necessary, you can leave Ice-O-Gel on during exercise or walking. To freeze legs before racing or competitions, apply as directed the night before, and in the morning, rub more Ice-O-Gel into the leg, followed by DMSO if desired. Wrap the leg with a standing bandage, remove prior to competing, and apply more Ice-O-Gel along with DMSO. For maximum effectiveness, wrap the leg with a cold water bandage and place it in an ice tub or ice boot. Ice-O-Gel can also be used with DMSO but is not required.
For animal use only. Not for use in horses intended for food. Avoid use over open sores or in areas with excessive swelling. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply heat after use as it may cause skin irritation. Not for use on animals with liver or kidney disease, pregnant or lactating animals, or young animals. Avoid applying to large areas, as some will be absorbed through the skin.
