Nobivac Canine 1-Pv Parvo Vaccine, 25 x 1 Dose
Nobivac Canine 1-Pv (MLV) is a parvo vaccine for dogs used to aid in the prevention of disease caused by canine parvovirus in dogs 6 weeks of age or older. It offers maximum protection against all known strains of canine parvovirus (CPV) while utilizing the CPV-2b strain. This vaccine contains a modified live virus of the Canine Parvovirus Type 2b strain, providing vaccination for healthy dogs to help prevent parvovirus-related diseases.
Dosage and Administration
Inject one dose (1 mL) subcutaneously or intramuscularly. The initial dose may be administered at 6 weeks of age or older. Repeat dose 2 to 4 weeks later. Two doses are required for primary immunization. Historically, annual revaccination has been recommended for this product. For more information on revaccination frequency, in general or in the face of maternal antibody, consult your veterinarian or the manufacturer.
Following the American Veterinary Medical Association's Vaccination Principles, revaccination should be based on veterinarian-client-patient relationships.
Note: Use entire contents immediately after opening.
Caution
- Store at 2° - 8°C (35°-46°F). Do not freeze.
- Do not mix with other vaccines.
- Use new, non-chemically sterilized needles and syringes.
- Inactivate unused contents before disposal.
Warnings
- Contains gentamicin and thimerosal as preservatives.
- Vaccinate only healthy, non-parasitized dogs.
- Do not vaccinate pregnant bitches.
- The use of this product may result in anaphylaxis and/or other immune-mediated hypersensitivity reactions. Antidotes: Epinephrine, corticosteroids, and antihistamines may be indicated depending on the nature and severity of the reaction.
Important Information
The age at which maternal antibody for canine parvovirus no longer interferes with the development of active immunity varies depending on the bitch's titer and the quantity of colostral antibodies absorbed by the puppy.
