Venice Turpentine, also known as Venetian Turpentine, is an essential product for maintaining equine hoof health. It is used to toughen or harden hooves, making it especially effective for tender-footed or sore horses. This versatile solution promotes circulation, encourages new hoof growth, and serves as an effective disinfectant and antibacterial agent. Farriers commonly use Venice Turpentine for treating split hooves, quarter cracks, and other hoof conditions. Its application helps draw out stone bruises and treat infections caused by nail pricks or issues in the frog of the hoof. A convenient brush is included for easy application.
65% Pinus Palustris and 20% Turpentine Essential Oil.
Apply daily to the sole of the hoof and cover with brown paper to secure and protect the application. For use as a drawing ointment, apply to the frog or infected area to address stone bruises, infections, or nail pricks. Venice Turpentine is also suitable for use in homemade hoof packing mixtures.
For horse use only. Avoid over-hardening the hoof or frog to prevent bruises, abscesses, or slowed hoof growth.
