Durvet Calcium Gluconate 23% is specifically formulated to aid in the treatment of parturient paresis (milk fever) in cattle. This sterile solution provides 2.14 grams of calcium per dose and is intended for intravenous or intraperitoneal administration. Warm the solution to body temperature before administering it slowly. Use the entire contents after opening, and handle under aseptic conditions to maintain sterility. If no improvement is observed within 24 hours, consult a veterinarian.
Directions: Cattle: Administer 250 to 500 mL intravenously or intraperitoneally. The solution should be warmed to body temperature and administered slowly.
Ingredients: Active: Calcium Gluconate (provides 2.14 grams Calcium) 23 grams. Inactive: Water for Injection q.s., Boric Acid (stabilizing agent) 3.5 grams.
Electrolytes per 1000 mL: Calcium 1069 mEq. Hypertonic pH 2.5-4.5.
