New Year's Resolutions for You and Your Horse
Happy New Year! Now what are you going to do to ensure that your horse is as happy as you are? This year, why not break out of some old habits and patterns and bring a fresh new energy to your riding? Horses get bored and lose motivation when forced to do the same old thing, so some good resolutions for the new year would be to try something new with your horse and focus on bringing both of you more enjoyment.
Change Your Routine
Stop riding around in circles and practicing moves that your horse already knows. Instead, add something new to your routine every day, like a new test, new jump, new practice location or new riding partner. Maybe even a new The Equine Scratcher, designed for safe scratching and to relieve boredom. Also let loose like a kid, go for a gallop and yell "yee-haw!" every now and then.
Work Towards a Goal
Maybe it's time to enroll your horse in a competition or show, take lessons with a new instructor, or learn a new discipline. Get a friend to join the new venture with you for double the fun and extra motivation.
