Feeding Directions: Feeding directions for Wellness Calm & Cool® are based on the horse's mature body weight and activity level. Wellness Calm & Cool® weighs 1.6 pounds per dry US quart. Provide forages and/or pasture at a rate of 1.5 - 2 lbs. per 100 lbs. of body weight. Always offer a free-choice horse mineral like Seminole Grass Balancer Mineral, and ensure clean fresh water is available at all times. Do not feed on a free-choice basis. Increase feeding rates gradually, not exceeding 1 pound per day, over a 7-10 day period. Avoid feeding a horse that has been exercised or is exhibiting pain, fever, or diarrhea.

For mature horses, the daily forage and Wellness Calm & Cool® recommended feeding amounts vary by body weight and workload. For instance, a horse weighing 1000-1200 lbs. requires 15-24 lbs. of forage daily and 3-6 lbs. of Wellness Calm & Cool® for maintenance. Performance horses under light, moderate, or intense workloads need 5.5-8 lbs., 8-11 lbs., and 11-13.5 lbs. of Wellness Calm & Cool® respectively. Specific feeding guidelines are provided for different body weights and workloads, including stallions during breeding and non-breeding periods.
